PLEASE! CAREFULLY READ THIS IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TAPES AND DVD: Be aware of the different Regions and recording Formats. UK tapes and DVD are PAL format - DVD discs are Region 2, and blu-ray discs are Region B. That means that PAL TAPES ARE ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH UK VIDEO SYSTEMS AND REGION 2 DVD DISCS AND REGION B BLU-RAY DISCS ARE ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH EUROPEAN PLAYERS -- THEY WILL NOT WORK WITH US EQUIPMENT. Unless you have a system that will enable you to, you will not be able to view these medias in North American machines, which use NTSC recording format, and Region 1 for DVD discs. The same is true the other way around. Please note that some DVD and Blu-Ray players can play any format. Check the compatibility of your equipment before ordering. A blu-ray disc, which is describes as ALL REGION or REGION 0 should play with US equipment. |

CAPTAIN SCARLET AND THE MYSTERONS: THE COMPLETE SERIES (DVD)
First released in September 2001, "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons - The Complete Series contains 6 DVD of all the episodes, fully remastered from the original release, with stereo sound. The episodes were complete, with no missing scenes and contrary to the previous VHS release, there were no compilation films. The episodes are comprised in the first five discs of the set, which also contain extras, special features and most importantly, the five audio adventures which were produced by TV 21 in the 60s. A definite plus for all collectors, as these audio-adventures are not available in ANY other DVD set.
As for the sixth disc of the set, it contains a special documentary "Captain Scarlet S.I.G." which is presented by Captain Scarlet and Captain Blue themselves, voiced by Francis Matthews and Ed Bishop. This documentary is not available anywhere else - except as a standalone VHS.
At the time of its release in 2001, Carlton produced a big high-quality boxset, with each of the discs contained in its individual plastic case. Combined together, the edges of all the cases would create the Spectrum logo. Since then, ITV has re-released the boxset a couple of times already. The latest version has been considerably reduced to a single inch-thick plastic box, which includes all of the six discs. The content of the discs are exactly the same as they were in 2001. Because of the quantity of its extra, this is the boxset we recommand to Captain Scarlet fans. And if you are not a U.K. or Europe residents, and if you have a DVD player that can play Region 2 DVD discs, you will probably want to get this set instead.
The content of each disc appears below. Each disc features extra material, such as the audio adventures that were available in the 60s, documentaries, etc. The box set edition contains the five discs, and also includes a bonus documentary disc produced by Gerry Anderson. The boxset and the first separated volumes are presently available.
